NTG4.7 Mystery: Reverse camera works in video mode but not reverse mode

NOTING THE LAST POSTING IN THIS FORUM WAS 2019, I HOPE IT GETS READ. MAY NEED TO CROSS POST IN ANOTHER FORUM - ADMIN PLEASE ADVISE
--------------------------------------------

MY 2012 SLK-200 JDM Head Unit was reprogrammed for New Zealand and works fabulously. Except for one problem.

Put it in reverse, the screen goes black with the yellow guidelines, but no video.

So I ordered and installed the following products recommended in a posting at SLK World
Camera: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7WY3T6C
Cable: RG316 Fakra Female Angle to RCA FEMALE RF Cable FAST-SHIP LOT | eBay (3 foot length)

No joy on the reverse screen, but when I started pressing buttons, I discovered it works as a Video feed. Press Video. Press Back and it comes on as an AUX feed. Because I wired the positive to the reverse light (back up light), it only turns on when in reverse, but pressing the extra buttons to see how close I am to the car behind when parking is a pain. Plus when I put it in Drive and start moving, it issues me a warning that it is turning the video off (which by this point is a blank screen because the power is off to the camera). To get back to Android Spotify mode, I have to press more buttons.

I've used the Setup function to ensure the Reverse Camera Function is on and entered Engineering mode to ensure the settings are right (notably NTSC for the NTSC ENREDO brand camera)

(1) Front Monitor RVC = NTSC
(2) Rear monitor 1 RVC = NTSC
(3) Input signal setting 1 RVC = NTSC
Engineering Menu Settings:
7.7 HU 22 Parameter (4/16) Rearview camera = SRVC
7.7 HU 22 Parameter (2/16) 8 RDS Functions : activated
7.7 HU 22 Parameter (2/16) 10 IC Asia : not installed
7.7 HU 22 Parameter (2/16) 11 Rear cover not available - changed to available, made no difference
Because the camera works, it obviously is a software setting issue. Next I will try hooking up the Autel OBD scanner to see if it has anything, but if anyone has more expertise in NTG4.7 settings, I would appreciate it.

Hi all,

I have 03 G500 and I am not satisfied with the quality of the sound system. I had Porsche cayenne with Bose sound system it was amazing!

Actually I don't like the head unite either so I am thinking of improve the head unite as well the speakers ,tweeters and subwoofer. The problem is I don't have any idea which I need exactly. I don't know what is the different between mid rang/ full range or mid bass...etc

For the head unit I am thinking of purchases this unit:

DVD GPS Navi BT Player Mercedes Benz E CLS CLK G Class W211 W219 W209 W463 8797 | eBay

it has the oem look with further options, the downside it's Chinese made and they told me I need special cable for the fiber optic.

Since I don't have any idea about the cars audio systems please I need to know the followings:

- The dealer told me my car has the fiber optic so is it hard to upgrade the sound system?

- Does the head unit affect the quality of the car sound system? if yes can I still upgrade the sound equipment even with this unit?

- What is the different between mid range/ med bass ...etc? so how I can know which speakers fir front and rear?

- what is your best advise for upgrading the sound system? what I should change speakers? subwoofer? and what brand/size will fit perfectly? I don't want to change the oem look or install big equipment.

- Do I need to change the amb since the unite has one but I am not sure if it's play an important role in the sound quality.

Thanks

NAVI issue

Dear friends,
I need your advice concerning my NAVI system.
I have the CLK 200 Kompressor, model 2003.
When I bought it, I ordered the COMMAND APS full screen (navi, cellular phone, radio, cd) with a CD player.
As a result today I cannot use it for a variety of digital navi maps which are on DVDs only.

So, is there any recommendation about what to do, after so many years?
-Should I change the whole system (COMMAND APS, full screen) with one including DVD (probably 2nd hand)?
- Is there any possibility to change part of it (i.e. to replace only the CD player with a DVD player and in this case also the software)?
- Any other idea/solution?

Thanks in advance

Angelos

Auidio 10 and cd changer ML

Hi all, I have a ML270cdi from 2001, I also have a Pioneer 6 disc CD changer out of an older car. So I have bought a fold out cage and bolted the Pioneer CD Changer into it, I also have 10 meters of CD changer cable with a D plug on each end of the cable. Now I see that MB did an optic fiber "cable" for their own version of the Changer. Now I have an old Pioneer which I took out of the same car before it was scrapped. But it is showing it's age so I thought of fitting a Double Din unit. but the modern one don't have the changer socket at the back. is there anyway I can fit this to the audio 10 that is fitted. Personally I think the whole sound system isn't exactly the dogs dodahs when it comes to audio,

I was thinking of Infinity speakers front and back with separate tweeters, I don't go for Boom boxes so a massive low down 22" subwoofer isn't going to get fitted, I like my glass to stay where it is, So looking for a DD Pioneer or Alpine head unit, coupled up to a small hideable amp (under seat) with great speakers.

Or do our members here like to offer a different solution.

This is a little off topic, but I know lots of people here are into techy gadgetry, camping, and mountain biking. A guy I work with makes these things so I thought I'd take the opportunity to bring friends together that might benefit from each others' interests. Its cool setup for a LED headlamp for mountain biking, or whatever use you can dream up. No need to reply, just wanted to share it.

Enjoy,

http://www.amoebalight.blogspot.com/

-Dave G.

I just added SIRIUS Sat Radio to my G500. Went with the Stiletto 2 Portable with the Car Kit. For best clarity, I used the Direct Wire FM Kit, which requires a couple of antenna adapters. Removal of the existing unit to access the antenna jack is a piece of cake with the $5 radio removal tools.

Sounds good!
