e350 wagon wheels question

Greetings, I'm new to this forum and mercedes in general. Forgive my basic questions. We purchased a 2011 e350 wagon with the AMG styling a few years ago. It's an older car but had low mileage. Anyway, trying to get new tires, I'm told one of the wheels is bent beyond repair. Looking online for a used wheel, I'm not able to determine if a wheel from a sedan would work for the wagon. Can anyone confirm? Is there a website to confirm specs on my vehicle with the VIN number? Any good websites to track down one wheel? The other three wheels are pretty beat up. Any good after market options for a low profile wheel that's not outrageously overpriced for a 12 year old car? Thanks in advance.

W209 CLK 220 CDI with AMG kit Suspension settings

Does anyone out there have any experience of excessive front tyre wear on these CLK models. I have had the suspension reset twice by MB main dealer and MB independent when new fronts fitted but each time the outside edges of the front tyres wear excessively, well before the rest of the tyre. We are running Michelin Pilot Sports 225/40/18 on the front and the same 255/35/18 on the rear. All the suspension joints and linkages have been checked and are ok and now my very trusted mechanic is taking things back to basics to reset the suspension. I was wondering (independently from my mechanic, what the factory settings are, for the suspension. And if anyone else has encountered and/or cured the problem). These tyres are expensive and not wearing correctly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Off topic but since it's about tires....

Guys I need some help, well actually my brother does. He has a 2007 BMW 328ix with "run-flat" tires. He has an alignment problem (probably from some horrendous pot holes in Philadelphia) and has worn his front left tire down to the belts in 20K miles.

BMW has told him that the life expectancy of run flats is about 20K miles. Is this true?
He is considering replacing them with non-run flats (after getting the alignment problem repaired) but then he will need a spare.

I don't like the run flats and the lack of self sufficiency that comes with them.

What do you guys think?

Thanks
Jonathan (And Ivan)

"Check Tyres - Then Reactivate" ????

Yesterday I had low pressure in my right rear tire on my 2005 SLK200. This was indicated by a red warning that said something about not enough air.

Anyway, I topped up the tire and went on my way. The next time I started the car a message popped up saying "Check Tyer - Then Reactivate".

I don't know what this "Reactivate" means and how do do it. The tire pressure is fine so how do I "Reactivate"?

Thanks in advance.

PS: I do not have COMAND....but, I have Audio 20.

STOP! CAR TOO LOW!

The message: "STOP, CAR TOO LOW!" comes up on my S320 CDi from time to time. Specially after a few days of not using the car and during the first 20 - 30 kilometers and when I hit a bit of a bump in the road. It normally rises again while driving. When the message comes up and I stop the suspensionis is actually right down and the tyres almost touch the body.

MB service dealer could not find the problem. Any advice?

Thanks,

Louis
South Africa

Widest tires on W126's

Hello,

I just joined the fourum and converted from another German makers tuning to come over here and start over.. My question is I'm going to replace my factory wheels on my 380SE and may go with either 16x8" SL class or AMG 17x8 fronts and 8.5-9" reps in the rear. My question is what is the widest tire I can run on either sets? I know with the older S classes you have to run a lower offset rim to keep from rubbing issues on the inside.

16x8 225/245 50?
17x8 225/45's fronts and 245/255 45's rear??

Any help would be appreciated..
