Not Stainless Steel

Recession? What recession?
So, it seems that this "global recession"
has not impacted negatively on everyone.
Check this out!
It's a Mercedes Benz owned by an Abu Dhabi
oil billionaire (naturally).

Featuring the newly developed V10 quad turbo
with 1,600 horsepower and 2800nm of torque
0-100km/h in less than 2secs, 1/4 mile in 6.89 secs
running on biofuel.

That is NOT stainless steel, people, it is WHITE GOLD!
I'm sure you'll sleep better tonight, knowing that the
exorbitant dollars you're paying for gas these days are
at least going to a good cause...

My mechanic was told none were in the US and it would take a month to import ...
As always, thank you in advance!

When and what model was your first Mercedes?

Just curious how loyal the owners on this board are to the marque and what drove you to make the switch from whatever you were driving previously. I'm assuming most on this forum are auto enthusiasts in one form or another.

This is my first Mercedes. I had a Ford Lightning before my G and kept a Honda CRV as a daily/winter. She made 407 rwhp / 510 ft-lbs of torque before I sold her to a fellow from Maryland last summer. My family, particularly my father, has owned nothing but MB cars since our first, a 1981 240D. He purchased it in the late 80s or early 90s - so I guess that's when our family's obsession began. He currently drives an S-Class and my mom puts around in an ML. Coincidentally, my girlfriend's family has matching MB's as mine, except the G (which I wish I could change!). I'm hoping we can get her into a C350 4Matic sometime next spring.

I made the switch after graduating college. I wanted a car that suited a professional (albeit a young one) and chose the G for its practicality, looks, history, and of course, offroad prowess.

Original purchase price was 220k. Sold yesterday for 56k. Holy depreciation batman.

I got to drive it all evening yesterday and holy smokes is that thing a handful. Fast as a 1 liter sport bike with brisk wall brakes and on rails handling. The whole package.

What an engine...I dont have the words.. its just ART.

Not likely ill ever drive a rig as nice as that again.

It gets picked up Sat for the trip to OH

The Complete Injection Molding Process

The two most popular kinds of IMM are the single-stage and the two-stage; there are also injection moulding units with three or more stages. The single-stage IMM is also known as the reciprocating-screw IMM. The two-stage IMM also has other names, such as the piggyback IMM. It is comparable in some ways to a continuous extruder.
The IMM has three basic components: the injection unit, the mold, and the clamping system. The injection molding unit, also called the plasticator, prepares the proper plastic melt and via the injection unit transfers the melt into the next component that is the mold.
The clamping system closes and opens the mold.

Change from auto to manual?

Not sure how to put the subject for my problem.

The engine in my 1986 G-Wagen 230GE is dead and I am after an economic fix.

Can anybody advise on what is needed to fit flywheel and clutch to an engine from an automatic car, so that it will fit a manual gearbox?

There are lots of used Mercedes cars but all automatics. I hope to buy the car, take out the engine to put in my G and junk the rest - heartless I know, but cheaper than getting my own engine rebuilt.
I am looking at W124 & W124 280, 300 etc. The same engines were used in G-Wagen at that time so I know the engine will fit - it's getting the clutch that I am not sure about.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm new here, so excuse me if I'm in the wrong place.

I have a '86 280TE. It was imported, so I can't find a website that even recognizes it as a model, much less find parts. I need rear shocks and it is a self leveling system. Know any good websites for me?

Thank you.

Marc
