M110 Dies during hot warm up, won't stay running until warm

Hey W126 group

I have a 1985 G wagon w/ 67k original miles that has the m110, and I'm posting here as well as the g forum about this really weird issue I'm having. When the car is cold from sitting over night, i can start it and it will fit right away and warm up, maybe due once during warm up, but you can always start it again and it will stay running.

If you let the car sit for about an hour after this, then go back to start the car, it will start. BUT - right when the temp gauge begins to exit the solid block of white on the left the car dies and it will take 20+ minutes to get it started again. When it dies it feels like someone just turned the ignition off, and when you try to restart the car, it will sometimes fire and rev once to 1500 then die, sometimes it will RevJump up and down between dying and 1500+ But it always seems like once the car is able to get warm enough it will start running again and be totally fine.

I've tested my fuel pressure twice and they are in spec, I've got good return flow to the tank per factory spec, fuel pump and filter are reasonably new and the fuel accumulator is a year old, and it has a rebuilt warm up regulator. It also has a new ignition coil, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, so at this point I don't think it's the fuel system or the ignition system and has something to do with the AAV since that's the only heat reliant thing i have not checked.

Any other ideas or helpful suggestions??

No clue where to turn for 85 500SEL (wont start)

this is about my 1985 euro spec 500SEL. she's been sitting in my driveway for about 3 months... i noticed she had problems starting, ie long time turning over before any spark for a little bit. sometimes she would fire right up, other times it would take a few seconds longer. one day, she just kept cranking and never did start. she has a half tank of gas... my first guess would be a fuel pump, but Im not sure. Anyone have ideas? So sad, becuse she's immaculate... except that she wont start :( I'd appreciate ANY ideas. :banghead:

ADVISE

1984 300SD turbo diesel.
I removed my bumper a couple of days ago and it required removal of two bolts on each side and a nut removed from a stud on the chassis on each side.
Tricky bit was removing the outside temperature sensor attached to the bumper besjde the license plate holder on the rear of the bumper.
A milk crate or low stool is required to set the removed bumper on to work at the very corroded temp sensor attaching bolt or screw. I couldn't tell what it was.
That classless attack on Pinot Noir was a disgrace. He was helping with sound advise.
Perhaps those asking questions should buy a manual suited to their specific vehicle and look at that first. Next buy a set of coveralls and have a look. Third graciously accept any free advise offered and if you discover differences don't attack your adviser--let him know you have something different.
There are may mods performed on many pre-owned cars by owners, their mechanics and their friends.
Fourth, after you dig your head out of your colon, dig your wallet out and see what you can get out of a $90 hour dealership "professional" who is likely made 15 years after your car.
Save your stupid questions for your parents. They are used to it. YOU KNOW?

560sec Fluctuating Idle?

So I bought my first Mercedes a few months ago. The car is an 89' 560sec, and I am trying my best to learn as much as I can about the car. Overall, the car really is in very decent shape, and I have done a couple minor things to whip it back into shape. The issue that I am having a little trouble tracking down, is a varying idle while in park. Mainly, I just haven't had a whole lot of time to check everything out and see what sensors or components effect idle on the car. At any temperature, and only in park, the idle is a little rough, and will idle high and then dip, and repeat endlessly. Any ideas as to what this might be? Thanks.

1991 300SE stalling

My friend's 300 SE is stalling out while driving. I was driving it today and I hit a speed barrier very slowly and it almost stalled out. Then, a few minutes later, I was driving on the parkway and slowed down at a traffic light and it stalled again. I put it in park, restarted it and it did fine the rest of the way back. The owner said it has been doing this sporadically. It smells like it's flooding when it quits. Opinions please.
