Whilst looking to change the fuel filter, I stumbled on another pump tucked right above the back passenger wheel. I think it's been making a lot of noise and that was what prompted me to change the main one under the fuel tank thinking it was the culprit. A misdiagnosis but they both need changing anyway. Can someone please explain the purpose of this "secondary" pump? The fuel filter needs changing and this reminds me of the fact that not too long ago I bought one as part of the service which the mechanic assured me had been replaced and charged for workmanship. You'll be glad to know this particular one is out of business, the world won't be needing his service anytime soon. This certainly looks like the original filter If you need something done?? I'm also assuming the pump is the same as the primary. Also I noticed only one pump is listed in the EPC diagram. There is only one main fuel pump. There is an auxiliary pump if you have a Webasto or similar heating system in your G. So I have changed the fuel pump in your image which I now believe is the main one. For some reason the part number for item 101 in your image is A0004703694 which is supposed to be an auxiliary pump however the number for the main pump 005 is (A0030915301). As you can see in the picture the pump is connected to the fuel lines and placed right by the filter and accumulator. I had no idea I had a webasto heater. There was me thinking the A/C costs a lot and the heating was free. I'll start keeping some anoraks in the car :-) Edited by King_GH 3/27/2024 5:12 PM | ||
