Retrofitting a COMAND SL R230

HELLO ALL,

I NEED TO REMOVE THE COMAND IN ORDER TO FIX THE LASER READER.
I UNDERSTAND THAT CENTRAL CONSOLE MUST BE REMOVED.
ANY INSTRUCTIONS/PHOTOS?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

RE: Retrofitting a COMAND SL R230

Its a little while since I did this, I think this is all the steps

Pull of the panels at the side of the centre console (starting from the end by the back of the seat),

Then you can see the screws that hold the centre console trim (wood or metal) to the frame of the centre console

Remove them, Remove the gear knob (pull up the gaiter, turn the knurled nut at the bottom of the actual knob), and then the trim section just lifts out (and you disconnect the connectors to the switch packs)

What I cant quite remember is whether you need to remove the gearknob surround with those switches first (if you do it just pulls up), but it will become obvious if thats holding it in place

Cheers

Richard
