Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor - removal tool

OK - I replaced the CPS today
generic Bosch part, but no Mercedes part number printed on it

strangely the diameter was slightly larger and the CPS did not want to slide down the hole
measure it, and yes, it is just a few 1,000 thicker
sanded it down a bit and it fits perfectly

time will tell whether my symptoms are gone or not

symptoms fit description of CPS failing

r

Master... I, the lowly Temple-Monkey, hate to disagree with you... But I highly doubt this is a CPS problem..

Every CPS I've had/seen Fail?? It's an All-or-Nothing... THE ENGINE DIES!!! Usually, when the engine is HOT.. You let it cool off?? STARTS UP again.

Do you 'Have Codes' ??

Perhaps a Coil Pack is on its Last legs??? Look for a 300 series Fault code...

Agree. Never got a CEL from a defective CPS.

Sounds like what happened with my Throttle Position Sensor, i.e. the drive by wire part.
