My local dealer attempted it and they couldn't succeed either. At the end of the day they said it was a problem within the door operating system that could be overcome with an additional part on my garage door system. I suggested that they should pay for it as they were selling goods as an optional extra that did not work, or at least refund the cost of it. They declined! The garage door opener manufacturer (They also are German) in the UK said it was a MB fault and that MB had fitted 'old software' (the wrong revision) when they built the vehicle. The manufacturer had come across this previously on a Mercedes. I gave MB all the contact details at the manufacturers but they declined to contact them. I asked MB to let me know from the line build records what version of the software they had fitted-they said they had no records that would show that. My car was first registered 1 March 2005.
