heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

Help. The heater hose from the cyc head (between 5&6 cyc)comes straight out(for 2 inches)then it goes straight up(perpendicular for2 inches)Then bends rearward for 2 and a quarter inches where it goes onto the plastic heater tap.At the head it is approx 20mm and at the heater tap 19mm.The spare parts bloke at the dealership I went to, showed me a diagram for this vehicle and the hose I am talking about appears to have only i bend and not 2 as the original one has. If I order the dealers hose I have to pay on ordering with no refund if it is not the right hose....Any ideas on the hose please? ALCMUND

Cliff,

What year and is it LHD or RHD? A VIN would help to pin it down, too.

RE: heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

The VIN is 46023327042256

Cliff,

A photo of the current setup would help, as it seems that your G may have been modified or it could have some sort of special application from the factory.

Thanks,

-Sean

RE: heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

If it is this hose, I am pretty sure the W123 chassis fitted with the M110 has the same hose.

(someone beat me to the photo resizing...thanks)

Re: heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

I've did a quick search in the EPC last night, but couldn't find it.
Is there a part number printed on this hose? Anyway, I'll see if I can find something. Let us know if you've got the correct hose in the meantime.

On my G this hose was cut and had a 'T' installed for a coolant supply for the evaporator of my propane set up, tried to find this hose then as well when removing the propane set up, but could't find it at that time in the EPC as well. Luckily, somebody with a spare M110 gave a used one to me.

RE: heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

Bram, I also could not find anything on epc...detective work led me to lookup at w123 with m110 (1981 280e) and found a1238328994.  Not sure if it is the "right" part but it fit, looked like the old one and works.  I purchased based on photo that was shaped the same.  Sometimes I have good luck.  I still cant figure out where in the heck it is hidden on the EPC pages.

RE: heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

Cliff,

This is one of those instances where you cannot trust the diagram from the EPC and you must order on blind faith.

We shipped one of these hoses to a customer last month. I could not recall its shape and size, so I called him to verify the part number.

A 460 832 1023 is the correct part, contrary to how the hose looks in the EPC diagram.

The W123 hose appears that it will work in a pinch and is much less expensive.

Otherwise, have the parts Bloke in Sydney order the part from the EPC, as it is the correct number.

Cheers!

-Sean P.

Re: heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

nice work Sean,

sometimes you just have to narrow down a part in the EPC that even though it doesn't look right, it 'must be it'. Will make of note of this part, so next time I know where to find it. Thanks again.

regards,

Bram

Re: heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

I am looking for this coolant hose A4608321023 but cannot find it for sale. It appears the 123 part may be unavailable now as well. If someone knows a source, please let me know.

Otherwise I will make one from 2 separate 90 degree coolant hoses ID 18mm using a coupler

Re: heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

Thanks for that. I was pretty sure I checked Pelican.
I already ordered:
https://www.amazon.com/Continental-Elite-63170-Molded-Heater/dp/B000...
https://www.amazon.com/Continental-Elite-63033-Molded-Heater/dp/B000...
https://www.ebay.com/itm/HVAC-Heater-Hose-Continental-Elite-64288/38...

Yes, I bought all 3. We'll see which one of the Continental hoses fits best. All together, it was still less than the preferred single OEM hose.

Re: heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

I don't think the OEM hose is available. Neither fourbyforclub, Couch or expedition imports has them and the dealer says they are nla. Looks like those other links are special order, so not sure if they would actually procure one.

Re: heater hose 280GE 6cyclinder petrol

Here is a modified version of the OEM hose along with two of the others that I ordered. One looks close and I'll hopefully try it late next week.
