Metallized Plastic

So Cowboy, do you wax the painted bumpers same as the bodywork??

What's the point of those warnings about Metallized Plastic?

Yes, I take care of the bumpers, the same way I take care of the rest the cars painted surface . Bumpers commonly have clear coated paint. Like the rest the painted bodywork on a car.

I've never heard of any warnings about metallized plastics.

RE: Metallized Plastic

So I went to the garage and checked.  Three different potions contained the warning, one of which further specified "metallized plastic trim".  NO such warning on my Meguiar's wax

Anyway what you're saying makes sense to me; it's the same paint as on the rest of the car, right?

BTW was this warning on the Audi Or the CL. They could be talking about the chrome.

RE: Metallized Plastic

HAHA... I don't think the product mfr's know what cars I have.

Anyway I worked on both cars today.  Was a good day

I think the CL has metallized plastic trim on the bumpers and the rub strips on the side of the car??

There warning that the trim is metallized plastic. So as,,, not to clean it with an harsh abrasive chrome polish.

Re: Metallized Plastic

One could try with a magnet, right ? I used the waxes containing the statement "safe to all surfaces" including metalized plastic, not the waxes requiring hard rubbing.

RE: Metallized Plastic

If only they'd burnt their house down, my pleasure might have been complete

So.... is it wise that Mercedes made the doors on the CL out of magnesium instead of aluminum?
