Mystery Sunvisor Lamp

The drivers lamp works perfectly however the passenger side lamp will not light. The bulb is good but when tested the circuit is not hot when the mirror is pulled down. Any ideas?

RE: Mystery Sunvisor Lamp

Must be something like a mercury switch and it's likely bad.

Re: Mystery Sunvisor Lamp

You are probably correct. I hear a "click" when I lower the mirror but no light. I plan to check it out further this weekend.

I think that for some reason known only to MB, that the passenger vanity lamp only works when the headlamps are on.

Both of mine work, with and without the headlights on. so that blows that theory.

tv74066, I would also encourage you to fill out your Vehicle info. In your profile.

Thanks....

Ed... The specialty flatwire Cable. Used to connect the vanity light to the front center dome light. Can be fragile.

Re: Mystery Sunvisor Lamp

If you look closely. There's also a contact point for the mirror switch in the sun visor clip.

Maybe your contact points need to be cleaned?

Re: Mystery Sunvisor Lamp

Thank you for the help. I am still trying to run down the problem. Driver's side works fine.
