How much do Euro Headlights for the W126 Cost?

Hey guys,

I wanted to know, how much basically do Euro Headlights cost? I am interested in getting some for my W126, and I am not sure how much I should pay.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

RE: How much do Euro Headlights for the W126 Cost?

New OEM Bosch lamps go for about $600 per pair. After market lamps like DEPO and Katmac sell for less then $300 a pair. Used Bosch lamps on eBay can be had for about $300 a pair but condition varies.

For your 560 you’ll also need to consider whether or not to keep the DOT wipers, get Euro wipers, or go for the clean look with no wipers.

The Katmac after market lamps on eBay are popular as they sell the lamps, six pin plug to replace your four pin DOT plug, and a new under the light panel with no holes.

wow. Those are pretty expensive, but then again, they are the whole headlights, not just little pieces. Thanks for letting me know jdc1244. I have been considering them for a while. Hopefully I can get them soon

Yes, that’s for the whole assembly including the bulbs. Some offer more: Katmac offers the six pin plug, DEPO does not; Bosch may also sell just the assemblies.

Even though it is a lot, It is certainly worth it. It makes the car look amazing.

Frankly, there’s also a safety issue. The DOT lights on both my 126s gave poor visibility. After the Euro install on the 500 the light was much brighter, the beam pattern covered more of the road.

Cool. It is true. The intensity of the stock lights aren't very good at all at night. Which brand of the Euros do you have on your 500 jdc1244?

Those are the DEPO lights. About a year ago I got some Bosch lights and put them on but I can’t tell the difference.

if you find some euro headlights, maybe look for some euro wipers too, it will really add that extra bit of class to your 126

yea, come to think of it, I like having wipers on my 126. I'm sure Euro wipers would look great, but what are so different from the Euro wipers, and the stock ones?

look at the picture above ^^^, those are euro wipers, then go outside and look at your 126, and you should instantly see the difference, U.S. wipers look ugly in comparison

oh yea, that's totally true. They look completely different.

here's a pic of mine so everyone doesn't have to go outside and look at their W126.

I think that when I get my Euro's, I am going to get those wipers too. Where can you get them from?

The US market headlight assemblies are dreadful, what with the plastic frame and fog light.

Frankly, I’m also not sure where to buy Euro wipers. Partly because I don’t need them in Florida, you don’t need them in Southern California, either. Remember that Euro market cars came w/o the wipers as well so the ‘clean’ look is original too. I do know the Euro wipers are hard to find used. I’ve read that the wiper arms alone go for about $60 each new and an entire new assembly including the motors and under light panel can cost about $260 a set. Remember that the hole for the motor arm is not located in the same place as the US market panel. Below are some images of Euro cars one with wipers and two with out.
