Its self-installed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the prerequisite is that you need phone pre-wiring in place. If you can use a cradle already, you have pre-wiring.

And without factory prewiring, here's the service bulletin describing what needs to be done:

Re: Mercedes Bluetooth Adapter

Never tried it with a samsung phone.. ... but did try it in a W163 with Audio10 CD ......

It definately doesn't work with a Nokia 63010i .... and definately has problems in the new S-Class .... the problem is the windshield ..... the US version doesn't use SAP (Sim Access Profile) which should switch to the cars antenna. ..... The German version of the BT Adapter does have SAP (and costs 370 Euros) ..... Looks exactly the same.

RE: Mercedes Bluetooth Adapter

CHECK IF YOU HAVE THAT BASE PLATE IN YOUR ARMREST CONSOLE... IF NOT THEN YOU NEED TO RETROFIT MHI/UHI. Loads of postings of MOST controllers & harness on ebay.de!. There is even a base plate listed right now ... check out the ebay anouncements in the w163 forum.

Re: Mercedes Bluetooth Adapter

My G55 has a Mercedes handsfree kit for a Nokia 6310i...but I'm pretty sure it's not using the UHI system (it was an option that the car didn't have). BTW, this is a Euro spec G-Wagen. Will this MB part work for my car?

The 6310i doesn't seem to link with the European BT UHI adapter.

I caught a glimpse of a mhi cradle that was a dock for a razor phone with the bluetooth function also built in, it was being tested.

Re: Mercedes Bluetooth Adapter

My car : W220(2005) Euro spec. With DVD-Comand & UHI. I bought the BT module from Germany and installed under the instruction. Anyway, I failed to find the MB Phonesystem on my mobile. I have tried to pair Nokia 6111/6230i/6270/6280. All failed !
