Southeast G-Treffen

The MB assembly plant and newly remodeled museum in Vance, AL are now again open for tours. We are giving thought to arranging a Southeast G-Treffen to tour the museum and assembly plant on a Friday, sometime in the near future. If Friday is not an option with MBUSI, it would be on Thursday. They treated us very well when we did this back in 2008, and this plant is really impressive!

We would also plan an easy trail run in the Talladega National Forest on Saturday.

A date is to be determined. If interested, please respond here with the number in your party, as well as any preferences you might have for when we should do this.

Re: Southeast G-Treffen

I'm in! I think the wife had enough G wagen adventuring last time so I'll probably be the only one in my party. Any time after about May 1 works for me. If it's before that date then I may only be able to make the Saturday portion...about to start a new job and I may need a 1 or 2 month buffer before taking a day off.

RE: Southeast G-Treffen

If I can solve the vibration issue on my G and the timing works, I could be interested.

Re: Southeast G-Treffen

I just spoke with the MBUSI visitor center. The plant tours will resume in April but an exact date has to be determined. They are planning tours on Tuesday and Thursday only at 9:15am and 12:30 pm. It's not yet sure if Friday's tour will be available in exceptional cases.

If after April 15 (tax Season), I would like to attend. My daughter has her 500GE in Tuscaloosa at school.

Re: Southeast G-Treffen

We would be interested. One G-500 with 2 people. This was a fun trip in 2008 and all had a good time meeting new friends.

Re: Southeast G-Treffen

New guy, I would be in from north Mississippi. Could use as much lead time as possible to arrange the date. 2 - 3 adults.

Re: Southeast G-Treffen

I'm in as well. I just need a date a month out for planning and a comfortable copilot seat.

Re: Southeast G-Treffen

The website now says tours will recommence this month, so should we start talking about dates? May or June?

Here are some dates that might be problematic for some people:

Mother's Day - May 10
Memorial Day - May 25
Father's Day - June 21

Website: http://www.mbusi.com/visitor-center</p>

Heinz already has a request in to MBUSI for MAy 8. I just sent him an email suggesting a change to May 15. Since the plant doesn't normally do Friday tours, we might have to revert to a Thursday.
