| Chrysler announces 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD
The new 3.0-liter CRD engine will be built by Mercedes-Benz in the engine plant in Marienfelde and produces 215 hp (160 kW) @ 3800 rpm and 376 lb.-ft. of torque (510 Nm) @ 1600-2800 rpm and gets an estimated fuel economy of "19 miles city and 23 miles highway" according to various press releases. The later is the combined city and highway mileage and not the highway mileage. Overall the fuel economy improves 30%. The JGC CRD is expected at dealers in 45 states in the first quarter of 2007.
