Especially on washboard was bad. Changed the shocks .. aftermarket Bilstein. Not a big difference. Got 16" rims ... helped a bit. The ride was really rough. Left fender rattled loose, actually there where the fender attaches to the front cross member with 2 M8 bolts - the fender metal cracked, broke. My old 280GE rides way smother on rough roads - using 16" rims as well. So something is not right here ! Lowering tire pressure daily when you have to drive highway and dirt road ... no fun. Finally I got mad and ordered a set of adjustable King shocks. Installed today, set to soft. Holy cow, what a difference. I am not feeling like inside a rattle can anymore My conclusion is that the (original) Bilsteins are simply too hard for anything besides highway Oskar P.S. Anyone interested in 4 Bilstein shocks for freeeeee? (Except shipping)

Also, how adjustable are they? Can they be adjusted in place? the front adjusters/reservoir are just behind/above the front skid plate. rear ones are tied to the shocks directly. Look for the red "knob" in the pic. That's the adjuster Part numbers are 25001-300A (front) and 25001-301A (rear). I did not yet try the "firm" setting. btw. it is not just either soft or firm, it is multiple steps a good writeup is here:http://www.pointedthree.com/disc/forums/showthread.php?tid=20692&start=1 todays shocks look a little different: I' paid 1950 incl. shipping and CO tax Edited by oskar 5/31/2016 2:26 PM (g-king1.jpg) (g-king2.jpg) Attachments ---------------- g-king1.jpg (106KB - 3 downloads) g-king2.jpg (91KB - 1 downloads)

I like them for now. They are adjustable and are probably in the soft setting right now ( didn't check but should have), they don't have a knob for easy adjustment. The shock diameter is 2-3/4" and they are full of fluid and no gas pressure. Cost was $930.

Anyone interested in 4 Bilstein shocks for freeeeee? (Except shipping) I love the ride of koni shocks on my 460. My original Bilstein shocks on my 463 ready for the recycle bin, I was just shopping for some new shocks for my summer trip. I was leaning towards the koni's but if you want to get rid of your Bilstein shocks I will gladly take them off your hands. The wife made a comment recently about my GWagen spending Matt
