| Ebox fan dead
My e-box fan has finally died. A few months ago, I noticed I wasn’t hearing it run anymore after shut down, so I removed it and cleaned the squirrel cage and lubed the bearings, but it’s dead again. Is there a good place to get one besides the stealer? Or, maybe even an upgrade with more airflow? |

No surprise there....
The replacement is from ebm-papst last time I checked.

I think I need one also. I think they are only $15 dollars list and Duval has them for $10.88

Does the e-box fan run all the time? If so, I guess mine's dead too. What happens if i leave it broken for too long? ECU failure? Random idiot lights? got those already. |

I've noticed that you hear the fan after you turn your vehicle off, listen for a soft whine under the fuse box area just in front of the firewall. Mine gave up (on my previous ML270) took it out and lubricated, replaced and worked fine! does that elctronics get that hot that it really needs the fan, or is this just a precaution? |

Just a precaution. Electronics works more reliably and lasts longer when properly cooled.  |
