Must be. Does it ever rain where you live?

It's either that or a leak around the wiper shaft bushing.

I'm sure you are right about the AC drain.  Not sure where that is on your model though.

Did you by chance wash your G?

I had water dripping in from a crack around the hood hinge

RE: G500 wet under floor mat

had the AC on the other day - drained a big pool under the car
mat stayed dry

so, the leakage must have been from somewhere else
still searching

RE: G500 wet under floor mat

Mine is always wet under passenger side mats. I thought it was rain also. But, I've since moved to a desert climate and it's STILL wet! I hope you figure it out, for the both of us

RE: G500 wet under floor mat

There's two A/C condensate drain tubes. Left and right. The drain tube ends are flattened to form sort of a one-way valve, but then they get gunked up and stick and form a no-way valve. Easy enough to crawl underneath, squeeze, poke and get yucky condensate all over your face - just the sacrifice you must make for working A/C. Then stick a small stick in there to keep them open. I've done it many times. The sticks eventually fall out after a few years, but I just do it again. Yes, I know, there's probably a proper answer, but it works. Also, if it's a pre 2002 model, you can usually hear the blower fan running inside the collected water, making a distinctive splashing sound, which is a sure sign the drains are plugged.

If you get massive water flow down the inside firewall into the floor during heavy rain, then it could be the wiper shaft seals leaking, maybe because the nuts are loose. Mine naturally come loose during icy weather, so I have had to locktite them, or they will loosen up again next ice storm. Last fix has lasted about 14 years.

If you get water flow into the headliner during heavy rain, then it's likely the sunroof drains. They will get plugged up with sand, pollen, wasps, bamboo seeds, or other detritus that collects during off-road adventures. I've used water hose and alternatively loosely-coupled compressed air to clear them out from the sunroof end. Maybe not the safest way, but it seems to work.

Just my experience.

Re: G500 wet under floor mat

My footwell was very wet a few years back, to the point that it would actually pool if left on an incline. Changing the door seal fixed it.
