G500 stumbling and cutting off at idle. Help.

Please help. MY 2003 G500 keeps cutting off at idle, when going from stop at stop light, or when coming to a stop. Basically at coming to, sitting at, or going from idle. It always cranks back up no problem and no problem under accelaration at all. Car is showing no fault codes and my independent mechanic can't figure it out. He said maybe it was a fuel problem and to add HEET fuel treatment to it but that has not helped at all. I have 180,000 happy miles with it but this issue has got to be figured out. Your help is greatly appreciated.

No DTC's using the STAR System or with a simple OBDII Reader?

Maybe the electronic accelerator position sensor is malfunctioning (e.g., the voltage value that it is providing when your foot is off the accelerator is too low). If you press slightly on the gas pedal can you get it to idle?

No. Nothing at all. They cleaned the throttle body and still no help.

It was only at idle before with the problem. Now it is happening under speed

Good news! Just got off the phone with the shop. They figured out it was the air flow sensor. It is now fixed and back to G happiness! Thank you for your suggestions. Dutch, I missed the DTC part but yes nothing showed up on the Star diagnostic.

Glad all is well now! It has been my experience with the M113 engine that MAF sensors are almost a maintenance item in that they seem to need replacing periodically.
