Wheel Spacers

Wheel spacers, Firstly what is the strongest option: spacers or adapters ? What width would you recommend ? I have been considering about 23mm my 93 463 has standard flares. Any photos of your G's with spacers on would be much appreciated. Cheers

RE: Wheel Spacers

Our Wheel Spacer has a thickness of 30mm, and it bolts securely onto the G-wagen's hub.

Due to its 30mm thickness, you are now able to use the original Mercedes Lug bolts, to fasten your Original Mercedes Alloy Wheel to the prior installed wheel spacer.

Any thinner bolt-on wheel spacer, will need shorter lug bolts, as the original ones will bottom-out against the vehicles hub.

Any "not bolt-on" wheels spacer, will sit loose on the hub, and requires very long lug bolts. These bolts have to go through the wheel, and the spacer to be fastened into the hub.

The German TÜV requires wheel lug bolts to be screwed with 7 turns into the hub, before the wheel can be tighten correctly.

Re: Wheel Spacers

One thing I meant to ask with regard to fitting, Would it be preferable to use Lock-Tight on the bolts before touching up the spacers prior to fitting the wheels ?

Re: Wheel Spacers

I have never seen it done, when tighten those bolts with the same torque setting as the wheels, the spacers will not move.....

I have these spacers mounted to my G500 for years now, never had a problem with them.

Some people use the opposite on their wheel lug bolts - coating the threads with anti seize paste.
