Turn Signal Botched Repair Job

I recently discovered that a previous owner had done a nice "botch" repair job on the left front fender-mounted turn signal on my 1995 G320.  The bulb-holder/reflector assembly had both feet broken off of it, and it was glued via putty to the black rubber base.

Was able to source a used unit from a newer G (clear lens) and with a bit of judicious Dremeling on the bulb socket to adapt it to my "old skool" bulb holder, it came out quite nicely.

That plastic is flimsy to start with.  Years of direct sun on top of the fender definitely don't help.

Yes, brittle stuff in the silvery plastic of the bulb holder.
I replaced mine with standard Euro spec. Both my 1985 300GD and the 1999 G500 had been modified for dual filament. It was weird at first after going to factory original as I lost the running light on the fender.

I used the circuit to supply a city light bulb in the headlight.
