Two Brake Reservoirs in Late Model (2015) Vehicle?

Hey Guys,

I've got a dumb question.

Working on my G63 and was going to bleed the brake system w/ the Motive Products power bleeder.

Open my trunk and there are two reservoirs.

The regular brake reservoir cap says "Use only DOT 4 Brake Fluid."

The smaller reservoir cap (next to the firewall about 11:30 from the main brake fluid reservoir -- see photo attached) says "Use only DOT 3 brake fluid".

So what is this second reservoir and why is it using DOT 3 brake fluid? Is it part of the distronic system? If so why is it using different fluid?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The smaller one is for differential locks. I know that Dot 4 is required for brake fluid but I didn't even bother to check for differential lock and I've been using the same Dot 4 brake fluid as well.

Use DOT4 for both.  Both systems should be bled every other year.  The locker system is notorious for gumming if not used and bled regularly.

if you lift up the cover on the top of the engine, the one in the middle, over the power steering pump, there is a second reservoir for coolant. It is much smaller like the small dot 3 reservoir. I assume it has something to do with the turbos...but have no idea. Would love to know.

Just to be sure, the PS pump has a black reservoir of PS fluid on top of it.

Does this version have Air-Air intercoolers, or Air-Water?   If Air-Water, then that is what the extra coolant tank is for.
