| AMG tail lightguard installation help.
Hello folks,
I’m wanting to install the AMG tail light guards onto my 2002.
I’m having issues as I bought some authentic AMG tail lamp grill guards. The part number for the guards are 463 860 07 42. it’s the type that screws in but when I got under the truck, I couldn’t find anywhere to screw them into. There is a 3-4 gap between screw hinges of the guard and the floor of the truck. I believe I’m missing something but don’t know what exactly... would one of you with a guard take some pictures for me please. I’d really like to install these on my G. Thanks in advanced. |

You need the very heavy duty brackets, which are mounted underneath the bumper, in order to install those AMG Tail Light Guards.
Please go to the MB dealer for the parts numbers.

Don't bother with that bling stuff, it will not protect you car from anything, just cause more damage if and when it gets hit.
Better off to get all steel rear bumper sold here. I have one and it is a very nice upgrade.

Ditto. I also have that steel bumper. My G was at dealer for service once and when I went to get it the service manager said "Where did you get that
bumper? We can't find a part number on it nor a listing in the parts catalog." That should be enough to vouch for the quality of the workmanship. |

Guys,
I’m not gonna lie to you. My G has been to the snow a few times... spends most of its time on the highway or metropolitan areas.
I got the grills because I liked how they look and not for any functional reason.
That all steel bumper is very nice indeed.
The brackets above... can someone confirm it’s part number A 463 855 05 14?
