I can distinctly hear (and feel) a pump running in the passenger footwell battery compartment (passenger side) of my new 2014 G5 50. Anyone have any insight? Thanks!

Do you have multicontour (orthopedic) seats? I believe they are pneumatic and the pump you hear running could be for that. There could be a malfunction (e.g., leak) that is causing the pump to run continuously.

I would surprised if the air pump is linked-in in such a way so as to store a fault code. But that being said, I think the pump has a 4 wire connector, so I guess it could be. If there is a fault code stored, it would almost certainly only be available through the Star System. I did a little searching (for my own curiosity) and found that the pump is indeed located near the battery. I also found that the pump is designed to shut off after a couple of minutes so that in the event of a leak, the pump motor doesn't burn out. If yours keeps running longer, there must be some other malfunction that is occurring. Edited by Floobydust 2/18/2020 9:23 PM
