Engine cuts out -- SMOKE Test results 95 G300

The engine has been cutting out when the car slows down to under 10mph. The car always starts on the first attempt and don't seem to have any issues with idling as it's just under the 1k mark.
I suspect it may be vacuum related but not sure when it may be coming from so I did a Smoke test. Here are my questions

1. I disconnected the brake vacuum joining the air intake. Is that the best place to do this? See the first photo.

2. The second photo shows the plug attached to the intake. This one leaked so much around the connection. It didn't seem to me that the switch was designed to keep air in/out. It's very loose. Is that normal?

3. In the third photo I noticed these 2 soft rubber covers leaking a lot of air. I have no idea what thier purpose is however it's been designed with an opening at the end even though it looks like it's sealed.

And finally I noticed a lof of air coming out of the side vent on the outer body. Is it because the intake has to suck air through there?

Another observation was that there was a leak from where the throttle body mechanically moves which I didn't think could be free of air as it has to move. Is that normal?

Nearly 1K idle seems way too high.  I would agree that you likely have a vacuum leak.  Perhaps cap the intake, pressurize the plenum, then look for bubbles with soapy water.
