Headlamp Replacement Question

Can someone answer this question from a friend?

Can US Spec 2002-type factory headlamps (clear glass lens, H4 bulb, made by ZKW, p/n 463 820 00 59) readily be installed on pre-'02 Gwagens? Or is there something -- diameter of lens, bracket configuration, etc -- that prevents it? This with reference to a '94 Japan-spec 300GE

TIA!

Re: Headlamp Replacement Question

I don't know if the 2002 head light will fit, but on my 93 500GE, I had to source older Porsche 911 headlight mounting bracket (bucket's), to hold the new non -euro lights. The Porsche buckets mounted where the old euro light retaining brackets were mounted, then the non euro lights would mount to the Porsche bucket's.

I replaced my euro head lights with LED head lights.

Re: Headlamp Replacement Question

The 2002+ lens and assembly was used to federalize both my 1995 G320 as well as my 1997 G300. So the answer is yes.
