Any tips hard wiring kennel fan in cargo area 2003 G500?

Any tips hard wiring kennel fan in cargo area 2003 G500? No AUX plug in the rear on 2003. Should I wire directly to the battery or is there a better solution in the back? Have Frontrunner cargo system in back as well.

RE: Any tips hard wiring kennel fan in cargo area 2003 G500?

About a year ago I added power to the rear driver's side panel. I have a 42L Refrigerator/Freezer, and also wanted a USB Charger that could stay powered when the truck was off. I chose the Eaton Bussmann because it was both a circuit breaker and a master switch to turn everything off. I'm a HUGE fan of the Anderson PowerPole plugs. Nearly all of my equipment has been integrated with these, and the same plug works with wiring up to 45A. I chose a USB fast charger with an integrated volt meter. I can see the voltage by simply glancing in the window.

Since my battery is right there, I only had to run the wires 18" or so. The rear panel is extremely easy to access by simply removing the rubber door trim.

The Anderson Power Poles are the best. They are polarized but non-gendered. Think about that because they can be used as supply circuit and load circuit. It greatly helps in charging etc. Power Poles are available at many sites and if you are going to use quite a few it's worth getting the crimping tool. The primary caveat is be sure to assemble them properly.

I used to have everything wired with 12V SAE Connectors because they were common with battery chargers and some accessories. After doing a lot of research, I switched EVERYTHING to Anderson Power Poles. I really like that I could plug into anything and get the polarity correct. Connect to the source, or use one of the wires as an extension cable and freely connect to the other end without worry of messing up the polarity. I also like that the connectors will easily handle up to 45 amps.
