Smelling gas in the cabin

After taking panels off at the back to fix the fuel door: http://www.pointedthree.com/disc/forums/showthread.asp?tid=24535&po...
I can now smell fuel in the cabin. I have inspected the line from the tank and it seems okay. There's also no smell in the engine bay but I can smell it at the back when I take the panel off.
I've been thinking perhaps I haven't closed the panel back properly.
Any ideas?

Re: Smelling gas in the cabin

It is a sealed system. I would remove the panels and take a look at the soft lines. There are several.

I can see one soft line with a Y connector which has one of the tubes going into the vent and the other going up. Is there something in the EPC to show me more?

Re: Smelling gas in the cabin

There is a line that goes up and over the door frame and terminates at a male fitting on the other side of the gas tank on my G500. My guess is that it is universal.

RE: Smelling gas in the cabin

Found the likely culprit. The breather valve -A0004762232 has a mind of its own. I have ben hearing some weird sounds in the back of the car since I got the car and had always wondered what that could be, now it's all making sense.
I forced some pressurised air into the nose and it seems to be happily working, I don't get any smells now however I am getting the intermittent engine cut out very similar to when you have contaminated fuel.
I suspect the unit may have been in a zombie state all along but threw a wobbly when I went poking around. I'll replace it and see how I get on.
