wow, yeah....my dad, who had his own shop for 15 years, has told me the nightmare stories, about customers he had that show up with those old jags, and the nightmares they were to fix.....

I hope I haven’t put you off of 123s. It’s just something to be aware of when shopping. Check under the carpets and in the trunk for moisture.

why were these diesels not broken into subsets?

The 240d is my favorite because we *love* shlomos! 5 cylinder engines have always put me off since I owned a 5000s...

4 cylinder, n/a diesels are the best. I seriously want for a w203 n/a diesel with manual everything and cloth seats.

Sorry to OT, We got this jag when I was little, bout 10 years ago now sold it. 1984, Daimler xj6. Anyhow. We had it for 3 months; trans went. Came into NZ from England so all the underside had to be replaced because of teh salt roads. Blew fuses all the time, rust around the back and front windshields had to be delt to, trip computer was always on the fritz. What a cool car (So much wood inside) but what a nightmare to maintain, was so sorry to see it go but life is life.

yep, theyre known to be a plague of electrical problems, the screws all turn in the wrong direction, and if something simple breaks, the parts are mega$$$
