AsianML Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | GL320 CDI 4MATIC First DriveUtility, luxury, efficiency and long range come together in the latest Mercedes SUVBy Josh Jacquot Email | Blog Stand behind the 2007 Mercedes-Benz GL320 CDI and you won't notice anything out of the ordinary, which is exactly why you should be impressed. Look at the badge on the rear hatch. It contains the letters "CDI." Those three letters mean this is a diesel-powered SUV — the second diesel-powered Mercedes SUV to be sold in the U.S.

AsianML Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Re: GL320 CDI 4MATIC First Drive That badging picture is nice. Just makes me want to slap the guy that suggested the 4Matic badges to be added. Just makes it cluttered. Make it like the E320 CDI, where the E320 is on the left, and the CDI badge is on the right.

Extended range and extended service intervals. Also, personal preference depending on the price difference between a gas engine and diesel engine.

MBUSA doesn't have it listed yet, and our dealer says so too (and we all know how reliable that info is ).I'd say they're already in the U.S., since that's where they're being made. So, tell me. Skyline Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: GL320 CDI 4MATIC First Drive I drove such a 320 GL. Very nice. I think, it is a decision based on the Diesel fuel quality in USA. These are very high b developed engines. Inferior Diesel, probably with water in it, is not that kind of fuel to be used.

They already have warning stickers on the old pumps not to use the diesel on MY2007 and newer vehicles.

Make it like the E320 CDI, where the E320 is on the left, and the CDI badge is on the right. ya know, normally I'd agree, because I dislike badges of any kind. BUT... 4Matic is a pretty neat proposition, and a relatively unusual feature,

Skyline Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Re: GL320 CDI 4MATIC First Drive Well, I guess, this is specially made for the Americans. In the rest of the world the car is equipped with the socalled Off Road Pro Package (Real Low Range Transmission, 2x100%Lockers, Airmatic). Before getting things too complicated, it is shown that you drive a 4WD. Probably some others have only 2WD and look like 4WD, don't know.

AsianML Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Re: GL320 CDI 4MATIC First Drive They all come with 4MATIC standard. Reusing my analogy, that like assuming a Mercedes sedan is FWD, with a RWD option.

Marsden Classic MB Date registered: Apr 2006 Location: Capital City USA Vehicle(s): Mercedes-Benz | RE: GL320 CDI 4MATIC First Drive I agree with you Animals, it's too much script altogether. And I'm not even sure (in this example at least) that the "CDI" is the same height as the "GL 320"
But otherwise, they're here, and me likey. 20/25mpg isn't too bad for a big truck.
