NZ Benz Expert Date registered: Apr 2006 Location: New Zealand Vehicle(s): 1993 300SEL/S320 Posts: 2555 | I guess this used to be a really nice 126, sad. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=28001... Why would you let a car like this get that bad? If I had one of these I would take care of it or sell it.

The thing is, I'm not a mechanic but looking at the condition of the car I can tell it is too far gone and that restoring would at this point be prohibited by the cost. Shame. How cool would a 126 limo be?

Having a limo must be hard to maintain, not to mention that he will have to park that outside all the time, because it won't fit in most American garages, unless you park it sideways, and it MIGHT fit, but still highly unlikely.

Too bad! It would take more money to fix it than it would be worth. Find a nice old 70's 600 SWB.

This guy is just too much fun: "If you bid on this car you own it there will be no bringing of the wife, mother in law, cousin, nephew, or kids over for tire kicking. That happened on the last limousine I sold from my collection and that guy is a spineless wimp. He even had the nerve to ask for his deposit back threw pay pal. So here is the deal you bid it you bought it and I will need cash or a cashiers check or personal check. I verify funds before releasing car. Yes you can do a pre purchase inspection. No you can not fiddle with the car or try to start it or ask me more stupid questions..."

Nutz - 8/6/2006 5:56 PM What's with that VIN number?? WDBca xxxxxxxxxx. Should it not be WDB126xxxxxx or because it's a limo,it's different due to be converted by a coach builder? Might be because of the custom job like you say. I want to know what cost him 5 grand on that car already. Also with a car like this, what is it a 1988? So thats 18 years old. By the looks of this car it has been abused for a long time, when for a limo it was still current and able to be used. WTF? If you owned a limo why would you just let it go to rack and ruin? Maby the company went bust or something. I'm sure there is a story there somewhere.

I assume it's an standard issue US market 420 SEL, hence the VIN. Perhaps the coach builder intended it to be sold in the US after the conversion and acquired a US market car from the factory. In any event the car's a terrible mess.

It is older, and there are still a few problems with it, but overall, it is Much much Better: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&ite...
