The is a very good final bid price for a nice car I don’t find that impressive:

The seller must be pleased. That’s more then what I paid for my 91 300 SE with 103,000 miles. Is this more evidence of the popularity of diesels? It does not bode well for my search for a first gen 126 300 SD. 
Yes, I emailed the seller he has a 603 engine, not a 617…

You're right, that's a healthy take! Nice color though  What an idea... some of his photos appear to have been taken with his car in a car show of some kind. Hmm... I mean, how bad could a car be if it was in a car show? |

You Musn't be much of a car boy, Marsie-- Many MANY cars in even top-tier car shows barely run.
Those car show boys put all their money into looks and next to nothing into mechanicals. |
