| I've made a decision
I want a GL. I thought I'd wait a couple more years and pick up a used 2007 ML but after looking at a GL450, I'd really like to have one. So, if it means waiting till 2010 to pick up an '07 or '08, I can wait. I will NOT buy new (unless my financial situation turns golder than it is now), preferring to let some other silly sot take the $20-30,000 loss!

Thats a good decision, I will be waiting for atleast 4 more years and get a used GL320CDI..!!
And, by then, MB might have a Diesel Hybrid or Fuel Cell Car in the market..!! |

I will hoperfully be sourcing a used 2007 gl320 cdi in 2011 or 2012. I can not wait to own a fullsize suv with a turbo diesel. I would consider a Toyota but o yeah they are not offering a Turbo Diesel Land Cruiser yet (or ever) in the United States.

I may have spoken to soon. The latest Car and Driver tested a ML320 cdi and they got 19 mpg city and the thing took over 8 seconds to 60 and 23 seconds to 100. The gl has to weight more so I wonder what that would mean, 18 mpg city and 24 highway. I was thinking for the gl at least 22 pmg city and 28 mpg highway. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I had a GL320 CDI on loan for a while. In my opinion, it is a very nice combination. It does not have the brutal power from the 420 CDI, but more important, not it's power "hole" from iddle. A very cultivated engine, a real long distance beater. I enjoyed it.
