| A queshion I should ask a long time ago!
Last april my 240D's timing chain snapped at a red light while idling! Nothing else broke, no smoke, no fires, just the chain snapped because the car was sitting so long! The valves are fine and everything else is also ( I hope )! Though how do you re time an 616 diesel engine when the timing chain snapped! the engine has 3/4 to reaching a million miles! Is it time for a rebuilt? Also the engine had injection pump issues because it was off timing so it cause a lot of knocking while idling! If so the engine is completly done, I can not afford to bring it to a germen mechanic so I would probably go the cheaper way and get an engine swap!?! All help is needed! thank you!!! |

i would suggest that you buy a NEW MOTOR from MB, and install it, this would guarentee that u reach WAY more than 1 million miles..... |
