RE: 240D Faces its Death! Video

I was just visiting this board to post this....I watched,I cried, I cheered. It kind of had the same story line as the movie DUEL with Dennis Weaver. Right when you think it is dead, it comes back to life.

Lash the valves and run a can of Disel Purge through it.  It's got another 100k in it!  That or just send it to Mexico and they'll drive it as is.  What's a little smoke?  Keeps the 'skeeters down.

I wonder what was "wrong" with it in the first place that caused them to do this.  It was singing along until it belched that first black cloud a minute or so in.  And why did it quit the first time?  Run out of fuel?  When you start pouring water down the intake, I guess all bets are off.  It would be fun to know what was going on.  Even more fun to get that motor, see what was wrong, fix it, and put up another video of the car driving around again.  :

The head gasket is blown in the end (Air puffs coming out the radiator). Unless the rods are bent from the water, I bet a new gasket will get it running again.

I like y'all's spirit.  Never say die!

However, I couldn't watch the whole video.  Torture.
