Are GL's just not selling well?

I'm not seeing very many around town but I'm seeing a ton of new W164's.

Do I need to show you the Top Gear America special clip when they arrived in Alabama?

From what I've heard, the GL is a huge success. Lots of contracts are signed.

RE: Are GL's just not selling well?

Prices on all new Mercedes are crazy,
especially since their resale values fell through the floor.

I rarely see them on the road. 164s are dime a dozen however. Anybody notice the gl's proportions look more 163 than 164?

RE: Are GL's just not selling well?

Today's Wall Street Journal lists GL as #6 hottest selling vehicle in USA in September, based on number of days vehicles stayed on lot.

New C-Class was 10th

However, since July I've done ABQ-Cincinnati-ABQ and ABQ-Omaha-ABQ, during which times I saw one.

Wow, #6!!

When I was in Toronto I saw at least 5 in one day on one stretch of highway.

My guess is that's not likely to be a high-priced-car-rich intinerary...

Lots around here, but not many diesels. I hear they are headed for Europe.

Only 12% of GLs sold in the USA are diesels.

For the ML it's nearly double, at 23%, R 22% and the E 17%.

RE: Are GL's just not selling well?

Here are the preowned models currently listed as available on mbusa.com.

GL-Class total: 168
GL-Class diesel: 4

M-Class total: 457
M-Class diesel: 11

R-Class total: 201
R-Class diesel: 3

For some reason Mercedes-Benz doesn't appear to build enough diesels and too many gassers?

For October, GL is up to #3, tied with new C-class.  Still some Buick is #1

Re: Are GL's just not selling well?

They are all over Raleigh, NC, mostly 450s with an occassional 320 thrown in for good measure.
