Wow--that car is beautiful. And it's only one year newer than mine. Mine aspires to look that great, but with 203,xxx on the clock, I don't think that it ever will.

Aww Jillian. It's all about the driver inside the car.

Gratci!

The interior is just as nice. With luck she'll find her way to a new owner who will car for her.

yea, I know. I hope the new owner doesn't put too many miles on that W126. That one could go in a museum, thats how nice it is.

Or just highway driving – it’s actually good for them.

WOW!! I want that W126! It looks perfect! I was going to buy my friends 91' 560SEL 2 years ago for $11,000 but decided that was too much. It had 71,000 miles on it, was always garage kept, always serviced by Mercedes, and looked and drove BRAND NEW! Although his was really nice, I think this one may actually be nicer....

oh yea. You have got a very good point. Its very bad for the car, when it doesn't get driven enough. Doesn't it screw up a lot of stuff in the engine?

The drivetrain components and exhaust system need to be heated up for a long period of time at least once a month. This allows the oil to clean the engine and discharge carbon and deposit buildup. Same for the tranny and diff. The hot exhaust expels moisture and helps avoid rust.

I see. So putting it in a museum is not a good idea at all. But instead, this car could go to classic car meets, as well as Mercedes-Benz events.

It is certainly a very nice looking W126.

No, these cars need to be driven and enjoyed by the owner. Putting them in a museum is like putting a thoroughbred out to stud too soon. There’s also a school of thought that under use is worse than over use. Grinding through hard, hot stop and go traffic to work five days a week on a short commute can be death to these cars, they’re designed for the open road and flourish there.

yea, that is true. All mercedes were meant to do that, pretty much, except the unimog, etc... I really love the W126's. They look great wherever they go.
