brakes on a 16v

hey guys i got the little warning light occasionally flashing at me on my dash board
the car has done 187000 kilometres which is around 115000 miles
just wondering what is the minimum disc thickness for a 16v should i be replacing both the pads and discs
seriously thinking about doing that as the price of the discs is not really alot

RE: brakes on a 16v

I always do the discs when replacing the brakes. I'll look up the minimum thickness when I get home for you though. I'm running the ATE slotted rotors and they do very well.

Yes, I noticed that. I was unable to look up the minimum specs for the rotors last evening. Had to put the winter tires back on the GTI due to predicted heavy snow. It did not snow at all.

RE: brakes on a 16v

Minimum thickness is 7.3mm. Recomend replacing at 7.6mm. New is 9mm. Hope this helps!
Cheers, Niels

P.S. Very nice taste in vehicles indeed.
