i'v never driven one or owned one, but i know its a 3.0 liters inline 6 cylinder turbodiesel with a cast iron block, and ALUMINUM head.......this was sold starting in '86, in the 300SD's, among others.......it's considered "the good one" compared to the troublesome 3.5 liter turbodiesel version they made of it........ |

Diesel engines are more complicated then it seens . The 603 D35 , overheats all the time.The single 603 is not strong enough for Gs in my opinion.The CDIs complicated (specialy the 400).
Let stay with the old realible 617 !!!!

yes, the OM617 series of motors are considered by many to be the most reliable motors ever built by Mercedes...... |
