RE: Center Console Panel & Ashtray Removal (Howto)

Here are some pics of my iPhone mount. I just spray-painted the dock that came with the iPhone and attached it to a Proclip mount. I then plugged the mini out into the aux in the glovebox. I also hard-wired the dock to the wires from the cigarette lighter so that it charges while in use.

Thank you very much for a great post. I am asking Pleubner for permission to use his photos in our guide. We would of course give him credit.

Hi! I actually have CLK with engine start shift knob. If I change the shift, is it the same as the SL?

I notice you do have a button on the shift, but I am wondering why there is no wiring after you remove the shift knob.

Appreciated

RE: Center Console Panel & Ashtray Removal (Howto)

Thanks for these outstanding posts I am about to tackle the same ashtray repair on my 2003 sl500. On mine, the wood trim of the center console wraps entirely around the radio. Anyone know if there are any screws in addition to the 6 (3 each side) pictured in these posts? In particular, I'm concerned there may be some in the vicinity of the radio.
