RE: I'm a hypocrite

NZ Benz - 1/10/2008 3:47 AM

I start at the top where the least dirt is and work forward and down to the more dirty parts.

We're supposed to be talking about CARS here?

RE: I'm a hypocrite

a couple things that I have tried recently - synthetic chamois(comes in colors in a tube) and the squigee (specific for cars/ soft rubber) they both work extremely well. The squigee really gets alot of water off the vehicle and makes drying alot quicker. The syn. chamois holds up very well and absorbs alot of water.

I always wash my wheels last and add more water and soap if necessary.

Also wiping down all the rubber at least with water but with some mild cleaner rubber specific maybe a few times a year . Its amazing how much dirt builds up in the door seals.

I've been curious about the use of a squeegee. I've seen a couple of detailers use squeegees to dry off the cars quickly and go over it with a microfiber cloth. I'm worried that if dirt or debris gets caught between the rubber and the paint it'll scratch.

It's not worth the risk in my opinion.
