Okay. I was late for an event in North Carolina. So once I'd crossed the state line, and made sure there weren't any cops hiding nearby, I let loose. Man, this car is smooth as silk in triple digits, and you go from 60 to 100 in the blink of an eye. Can't speed in VA because of the stupid $3000 fines. Of course, doing 110 in a 60mph zone might be asking for it too, but I was late and I needed to be there as I was a participant in said event.

Right at 110, the right-side A-Pillar cover came loose. Fortunately it appears to be hinged at the bottom, so I didn't have to go back and pick it up. But it flew in the wind and made an incredible racket. High-speed aerodynamics and that. So. Stopped, snapped it back in place, resumed (all before the last cars I'd passed had caught up). Around 100 it did it again. So I went 70 until my exit in a couple miles.

Here's the point: the left-side already came loose. Weeks ago, just in normal driving. I had the dealer re-seat it. Design flaw? Hello? I told people today, buy Japanese.

RE: 110 in 215

The B-Pillar trim panels both came off the neon at the same time, but they were both on the car when I left work!! I remember it was when I was working at Toys R Us, and had left my gameboy sitting on the seat-- soonafter, I had problems with window regulators, too.

I assume someone tried to pry their little fingers between the window and hardtop, and popped those panels loose whilst simultaneously misaligning something in the regulator to make it fail? I heard two big noised on my way home from work, and the next morning realized what they were Hardtop coupés don't seem like the best way to build a 2-door automobile-- I kind of would prefer a plain old 2-door sedan "coupé" with window frames.

Daimler wouldn't do that, would they? Would it be too plebeian?

**edit**

Oh, yeah-- the cars feel really nice at above 90, don't they? The neon feels, at 110mph, like the suspension tightens and lowers-- its crazy fun!!!

Where exactly do you manage to hit 140mph regularly?

I'd snap a pic but since it's repaired it wouldn't tell you much.

They had to drill out one of the mounts and replace it.

Since then I haven't gone much over 80

OK I don't know WHAT the hell was going on but some time in November I toped out at 140 or damn near close, now I cant get past 130mp. was it in my head?

The other day I caught myself racing a 550i and not only did I get walked on the top end, But he kept gaining while I stopped at 130? lol

Sorry if its the wrong info. But here we have certain straightaways that allow a car to hit 160 for SURE!

Well you've got nads (or something) in addition to roads I haven't heard about in Ohio.

I'm not tempting fate these days, besides I get much better mileage around 75mph

I can't do lower then 80. I was so scared of 110-120 for a while but once you break that number you wont stop, now 130 is normal for me lol.
