Photo DIY- Squeeky Door Lube Locations

Since purchasing Vlad's "WunderPaste", I have gone from annoying squeeks and rattles, requiring re-lubing every few MONTHS... to NO squeeks with a protection lasting MORE THAN A YEAR.

I had several pics scattered on various posts which I conglomerated into one.

The first two pics show the MB paste A 000 989 84 51 and the scant amount needed to do the job.

The later pics show the lube points with the OLD grease present. I just used a cloth to remove every trace of the old material, prior to using the MB Paste.

In terms of the Door Rubber Seals themselves, I just use Meguires Vinyl and Rubber Conditioner to keeps things quiet. I have tried the MB paste on the rubber seals and have been disappointed.

Rear Door Clunk

There is no question that the lube, even though a bit pricey, is well worth it. It will eliminate a lot of objectionable noises.

And a little easy adjustment to that wedge shown in 1.jpg will further eliminate any clunking of that rear cargo door.

1.) Slightly loosen the two hex head (Allen) screws - just enough to be able move it with some force. Not enough to be sloppy loose.
2.) Climb in the back and close the door tightly.
3.) Use a 1/4" piece of wood to tap that wedge firmly back against the door wedge. Be sure that you've seated it firmly against the door wedge.
4.) Open the door and tighten the Allen screws.

Excess play in the door latch and the source of the rear door clunk is now removed.

Amazing what a difference the "magic paste" makes. My truck was very squeaky, however all squeaks and creaks gone after just wiping a bit on all the areas as shown on this thread. Thank you very much for this information it has saved me a lot of time and money! Not to mention making driving the truck even more of a joy, squeaks and rattles are a pet peeve of mine.

Eric,
Glad you now have a nice quiet ride!

It is also surprising how LONG that particular paste lasts. I don't think I've re-applied in nearly 2 years!!

Re: Photo DIY- Squeeky Door Lube Locations

Purchased this product about a month ago to deal with rear door creak issues. Have applied to all doors, with great success.
Pricey but very good results.

RE: Photo DIY- Squeeky Door Lube Locations

So after 33,000km from brand new in July 8 2012, I've taken my G500 into the dealership for at LEAST 5 times for squeaks that A $100K car shouldn't have (mind you I've put it through its paces pretty well).

Finally I caved and bought this grease...They had one unit in stock for a little over $100...I got a "preferred customer discount and got it at under $70...it's all good..."there is a thread on pointed three that said it's the cat's meow!".

Well, today I cleaned up all the "black" grease that has been applied in previous attempts...I could not bear the squeaks that were coming from the rear door...as if in an old wooden ship creaking and moaning under the pressures of the ocean...and I applied a small amount on all the mentioned areas (thanks a bunch to the OP...great DIY thread).

So...took it immediately for a ride...the good news is that the rear door is now SILENT...and I mean 100% silent!...Bad news is that now I can hear other noises :)...so I got back from the trip around the house and did all 4 doors...yesterday I installed a new set of springs (Iron Man +2")...I guess they need to settle as well (they ride great and compliment the King 2.5s very well).

Overall...I'm astonished at how easy this worked...now looking at how long it'll last...

Thanks again!
Nadim

Dino,

Glad to hear this solved your Squeaks! Like I said per above... I don't think I have re-applied for nearly 2 years.

RE: Photo DIY- Squeeky Door Lube Locations

So now that the vehicle is MUCh quieter...I can hear a slight squeak coming "in front of me" (Dashboard &/or engine bay)...is that the infamous top shock mount? i recall that came out as a "thump" rather than a squeak...

Any other ideas what to lube there?

Anybody add those sill plates from the g63 to an older G? Just wondering if they make any difference.

^a guy in germany did it Hansehl I beleive. They are from the Armored G's a plate on the bottom of the door and on the sill. It helps with the extra weight of the door and would prevent rusty rocker/sillls

I hate to necro thread the forums, but thank God I found this because my '06 G500 sounded like the flying dutchman since Ive purchased it. I bought this lube for $70 with free shipping from ebay and now the Gwagon is completely silent!

Re: Photo DIY- Squeeky Door Lube Locations

I just want to thank you guys for this simple but great DIY information.
I've bought a "WUNDER PASTE" and went thru all five doors and all squeaks are gone.
I also had clunking noise from cargo area whenever I went thru bumps and holes, but it's all gone now too after adjusting rear door striker per instruction by Dutch

RE: Photo DIY- Squeeky Door Lube Locations

Dear Forum Users,

I am new to forum and appreciate the excellent advice which appears. The posted photos are the really helpful.

I would like to lubiricate my door locks and hood latch with the suggested MB Silicone Paste 000 989 84 51 but understand from this forum that it has since been discontinued.

My issue, like many others, is noise when going over bumps on a G 63 2017. Has anyone found a suitable replacement?

Thank you kindly,

Don’t know “who” said it was NLA...

But even *IF* NLA from a dealer?? You can find it through numerous online vendors

Re: Photo DIY- Squeeky Door Lube Locations

Dear G-AMG,

Called the dealer this morning (I live in Canada). They said no longer available and no listed replacement part. Realize that you are Texas. Are you or other forum users aware of any Canadian suppliers that would carry the White Silicone Paste.

Thank you kindly,
