Moab treffen 9/26-10/3

Gents, I'd like to propose a treffen to Moab September 26 - Oct 3rd. The proposition is either three days on the Kokopelli trail between Grand Junction and Moab, with a day or two around Moab proper. Or spend the whole time in and around Moab with some overnights out on the trails. These are dates I will be there with two other co workers, I thought I'd throw it out there as an other option instead of the the San Juans this year. If there is any interest out there please let me know. We have a bit of time to coordinate this one, and I would hope we could get some turn out from the G community. Any ideas of alternate trails are welcome, but Moab is the area of focus, and the dates are set, at least on my end with me and my co-workers. I will get more info on the Kokopelli trail to share with you guys, it sounds very interesting. -James

Sounds very interesting, but I thought that the Kokopelli Trail was/is a mountain bike trail.

People keep telling me that. There must either be two of them or maybe the single track and the two track follow the same general path? I'll get more info. My buddy Rick, you remember him Dutch, the FJ guy, his club just finished it and I'll get a trip report from them.

The BLM description talks about support vehicle accessibility, and does mention some spots that are single track and narrow:

Lord, I'd love to go; but this year's vacation time may have to wait until next year. Some serious conflicts which require priority through the summer.

Info from BLM Moab Field Office

This received in response to my query about the Kokopelli's Trail and 4X4's:

The Kokopelli's Trail is composed of primarily 4x4 routes, with some
sections of single track. The single track sections are for mountain bikes
only, but the 4x4 sections are open to motorized vehicles. In Utah, the
section between Fish Ford and Sagers Wash (near Highway 128) is the only
mountain bike only portion.

You should know that parts of the Kokopelli's Trail are VERY difficult for
a motorized vehicle. For instance, to do the Rose Garden Hill section,
winching your vehicle up or down is often a necessity.

Please see our website for a detailed description of the Kokopelli's Trail
in Utah (as you may know, parts of it are in Colorado). Our website is
