Over here in the Netherlands SUV's are often referred to as: 'PC Hoofdstraat' Tractor The 'PC Hoofdstraat' is the main shopping street of Amsterdam. You go there to be seen. Most of the girlfriends/wives of millionaire football players, artists and the likes drive high-end SUV's including the G-Class. They do their shopping in this street. When people tell me that I'm driving a 'PC Hoofdstraat' Tractor, I always tell them that a G-Class is not an SUV but a 4x4 and that these two things are definitely NOT the same. I always refer to my G as ... The Beast! When people hear that 3 Liter straight Six roar ... they know I am right | ||

Norwegian nickname for it from the 80's "Børstraktor" - Stock market tractor. A lot of the yuppies during the good times on the stock market bought G-wagons to show off their money.
