VanCity Regular Date registered: Sep 2008 Location: Vancouver, BC Vehicle(s): '87 280GE converted to 300GDT Posts: 75 | FS: 1987 300GTD in Vancouver 1987 Mercedes G-Wagen 280GE converted to turbo 300GD, with all conversion and mechanical restoration work performed by German autoshop Jakob’s Auto in North Vancouver. This is a very clean daily driver with a nicely powered engine that is running perfectly. I really hate the idea of getting rid of it, but my new job takes me downtown quite often, and fitting the G into undersized parking garages is becoming a chore. Upgrades include: - Installation of a 3L turbo diesel engine with matched transmission to motor, with factory engine mounts and cradles. - Addition of custom driveshaft adapter, transmission mounts, brakes, mufflers, shocks. Original Mercedes parts used whenever available. - Re-wring throughout vehicle, new battery installed. - New Hakkapeliitta LT snow tires put on last year. - Re&re driveshaft to phase it properly. - New wheel bearings, axle seals and CV boots. - Re-cored radiator for increased performance. - Fuel tank re-sealed. All work receipts and maintenance records from Jakob’s Auto are available for review. There is some minor rust at the rear (mostly bottom of the rear door) and the rear defrost and tachometer aren’t working. Everything else is working perfectly. No oil or fluid leaks, no messes. Those in BC know the AirCare test, and this vehicle achieved a low 7.81 opacity reading in the last go-through. This is a very dependable daily driver that needs no work other than whatever aesthetic upgrades you may wish to make. $22,000 CDN obo. Located in Vancouver, British Columbia. I think a vehicle has to be 25 years old before it can easily be imported into the US, so this one would be eligible in 2012. Regards, Josh

This is the nicest G-Wagon in Lower Mainland. I parked my G next to it at the City Hall in New Westminster and I couldn't resist not to let a message in the windshield. Somebody is gonna be a lucky owner. hurry up! I feel sorry you have to let him go, Josh!

It was always great to let our two gals hang out in New West and catch up. Yes, I think it's time... but I'll be happy to keep it too, so who knows! Might see you out there again! Jeremyw... think of it as a 10-month investment.
