I have a G500 and would like an everyday car. I used to own a 300sdl and loved it. It ran forever but want to find out a little more info on the 350SDL and S350D. Is there a big difference in engines and is there one that would do better on veggie oil or biodiesel? I love the body of the 350SDL, just not sure on the engine. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Quentin

The wiring harness had to be replaced on most because of faulty insulation. The engine was also prone to burning excessive oil at higher mileage. These are road cars. Around town the wear and tear on the engine is not worth any advantage of diesel mileage. I owned a '93 350 SD and had good success up to about 85,000 miles. It began using oil at about a quart every 400 miles. I would find an'85 300 SD or an '87 300 SDL. Better all around!
