Posts: 2230 | RE: Touring wād al-ḥaŷara واد الحجر and back to the topic, how did you compare the 460 and 463 off road on equal terms? is the 463 easier to use off road ? are hydraulic lockes better? my friends here seem to complain about the 463 electronic lockers not switching on easily. and they dis-engage when the g is switched off..

I am obviously the man on the far right hus55 - 3/28/2011 9:20 AM another question, why are the names of the valleys still in arabic in a non muslim counrty.. very interesting to find out. The names have not been in arabic for more than 800 years. However, the modern name of Guadalajara (including the one in the Mexican state of Jalisco) comes from the arabic wād al-ḥaŷara واد الحجر (river of stones). It seems that the name was first applied to the river Jarama (the one I drowned my G in) for obvious reasons. Guadalajara is the 10th largest city in Latin America in terms of population,[4] urban area [4] and Gross Domestic Product.[5] The city is named after the Spanish city of Guadalajara, with the name originating from the Arabic word wād al-ḥaŷara (واد الحجارة or وادي الحجارة) the literal translation of the Iberian name Arriaca, meaning "stony river".[6] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Province_of_Guadalajara Incidentally, the globe is full of names of arabic origin thanks to the ambition and bravery of the Spanish Conquistadores. An example is the ethymology of the infamous island of Guadalcanal: A Spanish expedition from Peru under the command of Álvaro de Mendeña de Neira discovered the island in the year 1568. Mendaña's subordinate, Pedro de Ortega Valencia, named the island after his home town Guadalcanal in Andalusia. The name comes from the Arabic Wādî al-Khānāt, which means "Valley of the Stalls", because of the refreshment stalls which were set up there during Muslim rule in Andalusia. In the years that followed the discovery, the island was inconsistently referred to as Guadarcana, Guarcana, Guadalcana, and Guadalcanar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guadalcanal Edited by mortinson 3/28/2011 2:16 PM

If the system is properly maintained (as it is in my case), they lock and unlock in fractions of seconds. Besides, the permanent 4wd of the 463 is more conveniente for connecting tarmac sections between unpaved roads.
