I wanted to install a quick disconnect for the fog lamps to make disconnecting them easier while lowering the brushguard and removing the center section of the front grill. West Marine offers these 2 pin sealed plugs with quick disconnect function from Ancor Marine Products. https://www.westmarine.com/buy/ancor---16-2-wire-flat-wire-loop--179... They are great. I am in the process of re-wiring now. each pigtail comes with a male and female socket. I cut the harness in the middle/center to divide the male connector from the female connector. I now have two ends. I will solder, heat shrink, and then tech-flex and the new "quick disconnect harness" should be very slick and durable. https://www.westmarine.com/buy/ancor---16-2-wire-flat-wire-loop--179... I used to use those until Hipine turned me on to Weatherpack connectors years ago when I was rewiring the W460. I like the silicone seals that snugly snap together. Same end result. Also, to my knowledge, you need a special crimper and tool set to install WeatherPack Connectors. The tools are proprietary for this connector type to my knowledge. The thin design of the Ancor Marine quick disconnect harness appeared better. But I think the WeatherPack connector is a superior design. Edited by H1LM002G55 5/12/2017 12:11 AM | ||
