Literally Stunk. Thought I ruined the G. Smell lasted months. I like both http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-heavy-duty-anti-rust-in-amber.html and http://www.fluid-film.com/ . Get a gallon and use a sprayer with your air compressor. Its taken from wool and has a particular scent that sticks around for a couple hours but after that its good. It leaves a good oily residue on stuff and into pores so rust really cant happen. I spray my trucks but haven't sprayed the G yet. G is getting it this fall.

The local distributor kindly loaned me the Jetflow gun used to apply it. I am really pleased with the result. My only issue with it was the yellow colour but that is easily solved by overcoating. I used Jotun Jotamastic 90. If we can get these products in SA I am sure you can get them there. Mind you perhaps you cant. I mean if you cant even get cool diesel vehicles there how can you get Sika. Ok apologies, that was low....

Sika is available here in many and various types - in spite of the fact that MB doesn't think its diesel are good in the North American market. Because of the dieselgate emissions problems, MBUSA had no 2017 diesel cars for sale. The only diesel they sold for 2017 was the Sprinter. Damned Political shame, but I'm straying off topic.

Had used Waxoyl on other vehicles prior to owning the G (with good result) and already had the applicator wands. I went over every nook and cranny which was time consuming enough that I doubted one of the commercial applicators would do the same. Since then I have had it sprayed with Fluidfilm each fall. One of the local autobody places applies Fluifilm for a few weeks each fall. Have to call in Aug to get one of the appointments in Sept or Oct (which reminds me...). Both Waxoyl and Fluidfilm have odors. Personally I prefer the smell of Waxoyl, chemical rather than the wet sheep smell of Fluidfilm.

On the G I've tried two places, lower edge of rear door and on an aftermarket roof ladder. I just daubed some on rust spots on the ladder. No surface prep and no top coat. Lasted fairly well as in a little more than a year. Winters here are tough on metal, essentially a marine environment as the roads are treated with rock salt and brine, no sand. For the bottom edge of the door I got the media blaster going and cleaned down to bare metal after moving the gasket out of the way. POR15 on that cleaned metal but also lasted about year. Rust is back again and am going to try a local autobody shop.

Just walked up to it on a dry day and applied POR15. The door edge was media blasted but again not the whole Marine Clear and Metal Ready process. I did do that when I started using POR15 (other vehicles) but got disillusioned and quit bothering. Try it out and see what you think. At least for me it did not turn out to be the corrosion barrier I had hoped.
